Empty Calories & Male Curiosity (2008)

Empty Calories & Male Curiosity at Hungryman Gallery in Chicago, IL.

Inspired by the testosterone induced compulsions and effeminate anxieties of the modern man, my installation titled Empty Calories and Male Curiosity provided viewers at Hungryman Gallery with an interactive display of artwork and artifacts from my most recent collection. For this piece the gallery space was littered with new prints, animations, drawings and paintings juxtaposed with hand written letters, found objects as well as the remnant evidence of my modern life. Check out this detailed interactive look into the world of Empty Calories & Male Curiosity.

Curated by Deniese Markonish,The New English took place at Art Space in New Haven, CT from July 21 to September 16, 2006. A small group of New England artists, namely Nick Z., Dooley-O, Demo and myself were asked to take our graffiti to the gallery walls. My piece, titled The Sight of Revenge was compleated over multiple visits to the space during the summer months of August of July. Whatever trials, tribulations or celebrations I experienced during that period made its' way onto the wall. Check out the article in the New York Times and see the finished installation here.

Future Classic T-shirt (2005)

Future Classic is a Boston based company that promotes graffiti art events. I was asked to produce a text based apparel graphic using the words Future Classic... that was the easy part. Then I was asked to decide on one color way... that was the hard part. After narrowing down my choices to a few dozen I decided to leave the final decision up to Future Classic. Well, instead of choosing one, they chose four.

I Was Here... (2004)

I Was Here was a group show that ran from 9/10/04 to 10/10/04 at the Harbor Gallery in Boston Massachusetts. Each artist was given a section of gallery wall to transform based on their individual aesthetic. Based on the shows title, I decided to create a collage documenting my time in Boston. Graffiti, scraps of paper, magazines, photgraphs, and other personal artifacts were applied to the gallery walls as evidence that I Was Here.
